Delivering the unanimous judgment, Justice Jamilu Tukur, speaking for the five-member panel, ruled that matters concerning the internal leadership of a political party are not within the jurisdiction of the courts. As such, the Federal High Court in Enugu erred by entertaining the suit filed by Aniagwu Emmanuel.

Despite the December 20, 2024 appeal court judgment in favor of Udeh-Okoye, Anyanwu appealed and filed for a stay of execution.
