A fresh wave of celebration hits the internet as popular Nigerian activist Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), goes spiritual in a new video after a court struck out the ₦1 billion defamation lawsuit filed against him by Femi Falana (SAN) and his son, Falz.

Court Strikes Out Falana’s ₦1B Defamation Case

On Tuesday, an Ikeja High Court dismissed the defamation suit filed by human rights lawyer Femi Falana and rapper Folarin Falana (Falz) against VDM. The case stemmed from a viral audio allegedly made by Bobrisky, which hinted at the Falanas' involvement in obstructing justice.

The claimants demanded ₦500 million each in damages over VDM's reactionary video shared on social media.

However, during the hearing, none of the involved parties appeared in court. The defense counsel informed the court of a prior application for a stay of proceedings. In response, Justice Matthias Dawodu struck out the case, calling it an "academic exercise" since a related case was already before another judge.

“Consequently, this suit is hereby struck out,” the judge declared.

VDM Reacts with Spiritual Celebration

Shortly after the judgment, VDM shared a celebratory video from his car alongside friend Kokopee, channeling a gospel vibe to express gratitude and relief. The clip, now trending online, showcases the activist praising God in high spirits.
